George Kamikawa

OK we all know Melbourne is a massive cultural hub, all types of cuisine is served and all types of cultures are respected, George Kamikawa is a prime example this. He is in fact a Japanese/Texan Cowboy, one that plays the guitar, the harmonica and a kick drum. An extremely popular street entertainer and will usually draw big crowds and even bigger “awws” when he needs to take a break. George epitomizes the busking culture after all he is just a man and his guitar.

Usually found on the corner of Burke and Elizabeth Street, you definitely do not want to miss his performances. His smooth bluesy grooves has been known to get feet tapping and hips swaying, a real party starter this one.

Melbourne Robots

What separates Melbourne street performers from the rest is how creative they can get.  Sure you can never go wrong with the classics and a man with a guitar will never disappoint but how about a human robot who raps, dances and creates his own music, the streets very own triple threat! The Sonic Manipulator; usually found in the CBD area; gathers crowds walking past together to enjoy his heavy beats, non melodic tunes and who wouldn’t like to see a man in a shiny suit dance around.

The Sonic Manipulator is perhaps one of Melbourne’s most recognizable street performers. His metallic suit and magnetic personality will draw you in, no matter what age, where you like to shop or what you like to do one weekends. The Sonic Manipulator is one for everybody.
